SearchScene is the charitable search engine that donates a big-hearted 95% of its profits to charities that are working to fight the causes and effects of climate change. We respect your privacy, we don't save your searches or your user data and we give you great search results!
We launched SearchScene (beta) in March 2020, after which we continued to develop the site, build our apps, build our browser extensions and gather initial user feedback. As of July 2021, we are officially out of beta and now, with your help, we are hoping to ramp up our traffic.
Why we built SearchScene
A search engine is something that virtually everyone uses, whether it be on their phones, tablets or desktop computers. Raising money via a search engine empowers everyone to be part of the movement to raise money to fight climate change and alleviate the suffering caused by climate change. The method is unique in that you don't have to donate any of your time or money – you just do what you do anyway, search the web! Read more about why we built SearchScene here.
Mission Statement
We hope to offer a realistic alternative to Google that people can use without sacrificing their search experience, empowering our users to help save the planet and protecting their privacy at the same time.
How it Works?
We make money from search ads, just like Google. These are the ads that appear at the top and bottom of your search results. When you click on an ad, we receive a small fee from the advertiser, and those fees can quickly add up. Unlike Google, we donate 95% of our profits to charities that are working hard to fight the causes and effects of climate change.

About the Founders
SearchScene was founded by Neil and Ciara. We are a couple based in the UK who wanted to do what we could to help tackle the climate crisis and make a positive difference in the world. Installing SearchScene
Our SearchScene browser extensions (for desktop browsers):
Desktop users can install one of our browser extensions, which sets SearchScene as their default search engine, homepage and new tab. We have browser extensions available for Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers.
Our Mobile Apps:
Our mobile apps are fully-featured mobile browsers based on the award-winning Firefox mobile browsers. They have SearchScene set as their default search engine and homepage and offer enhanced privacy as you browse the web.
